Wearable Art Quilts | 2021 - Present

The geometric and improvisational qualities of my visual art are translated into these wearable art pieces. Layered, patterned, angular, and free; my quilted art jackets bring my painting and quilts to the human form. Working with the physicality of textiles and the ability to wrap myself in art has sustained my spirit. I collaborate with Sam Schultz of Bias Handmade to create one of a kind, reversible quilted wearable art pieces.

An "around the world" quilt motif is quilted on the back of this quilted jacket. The color burst uses fabrics that are patterned and blues. The sleeves are a tie dye blue fabric. The model is standing with their airs outstretched wide in a bright alley space.

Heather, who identifies as white and fat, has her hands in her custom made quilted work jacket's pockets! This quilted jacket has a collar and uses color blocks of purples and dark turquoises with black geometric stitching for each panel.
